Art instruction is aligned to the Iowa Fine Arts Standards which are directly aligned to the National Core Arts Standards. These standards revolve around four areas of instruction (creating, presenting, responding, and connecting). All standards are taught to each student in each grade level or course; however, the art curriculum team has chosen priority standards that will be focused on and assessed more often to ensure readiness for the next level and college or career.
Art Mission Statement
Students will develop an appreciation for the role art plays and has played in society with the ability to conceive, create, evaluate, present, and acquire artwork in a variety of media.
