We would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to Oskaloosa Elementary School (OES). We are proud of our dedicated, experienced staff and enthusiastic learners. We believe in #OskyPRIDE: which means we are an elementary school full of respectful, responsible, safe and caring World Class learners.
Oskaloosa Elementary also has a wonderful caring staff that has tremendous parent support. OES offers kindergarten through fifth grade classes. Our curriculum provides a superb educational program for the students. They receive instruction in reading, language arts, math, science, and social studies. The students also participate in art, music, physical education, media and guidance classes. Our fourth and fifth grade students may elect to participate in orchestra and our fifth grade may elect to participate in band as well. We provide special educational services, speech services, Title 1 math and reading support and a Talented and Gifted program for those who qualify. We have three elementary counselors that have weekly classroom guidance and they also work with small groups and individual students. We have a school nurse and a health associate in the building each day to provide health and medical support to those students in need.
OES has a friendly atmosphere which is conducive to learning. The parents are supportive and the Parent Teacher Organization is actively involved in the life of the school providing financial support and the planning of social days and fun activities to complement our program. Good parent-teacher communication permeates throughout the building.
OES has a strong group of volunteers. If you would like to volunteer at our school, please call 673-8092 and we will get you involved. If you would like more information about our school, please feel free to call. You are welcome to visit Oskaloosa Elementary and find out in person about the educational opportunities that are being provided for the students.
Yours in Education,
Tim Veiseth, Mike Dursky and Teresa Higgins
