PBIS at Oskaloosa Elementary

Oskaloosa Elementary School PBIS

Welcome to the Oskaloosa Elementary School’s Positive Behavioral Intervention and Supports (PBIS) website!  Our school-wide positive behavior interventions and supports system help students learn the behavior expectations for the following areas in our school:  Classroom, Hallway, Restroom, Playground, Lunchroom, and Bus.  We hope these clear and concise expectations will improve the school climate and help teaching and learning for all.

PBIS works well at school but it can work just as well at home. As your child’s first teacher, you know your child best. You also know the rest of your family and your family’s core values. Supporting positive behavior doesn’t mean changing the child – it means changing the environment so that it supports and reinforces the kind of behavior you want to see. To make this work, you will find a PBIS “Home Matrix” attached, that give examples of how to implement PBIS at home.   The consistency of implementation at home and school is crucial, so we ask that your expectations are the same that we use at OES:  Be Respectful, Be Responsible, Be Safe, and Be Caring.   At school we call this “OSKY PRIDE.”

Osky Elementary Behavioral Expectations:

Be RESPECTFUL

Be RESPONSIBLE

Be SAFE

Be CARING

On this webpage, you will also find the PBIS Matrix (Home and School), our School Rules, and the PBIS instructional video that we filmed at OES:
