When to Stay Home

I need to stay home if…

I have a fever of 100.4 or higher:

I am return to school when I am fever free for 24 hours without the use of fever reducing medication such as Tylenol or Motrin.

I am vomiting or have within the last 24 hours:

I may return to school when I am free from vomiting for at least 2 solid meals.

I have diarrhea within the past 24 hours:

I may return to school when I am free from diarrhea for at least 24 hours.

I have a rash with itching and fever:

I may return to school when I am free from rash itching or fever. I have been evaluated by a doctor if needed.

I have head lice with itchy head and active lice:

I may return to school when I have been treated with appropriate lice treatment at home and proof is provided to nurse.

I have an eye infection with redness, itching, and/or “crusty” drainage from eye:

I may return to school after being evaluated by my doctor and have a note to return to school.

I have been in the hospital and/or emergency room visit:

I may return to school when released by my medical provider to return to school.
